Farm walk coming up

On Sunday 14th August we are having a farm walk at 2pm. We will run a guided walk around the farm which depending on the weather will take 1 to 1.5 hours. Last year we did 2 of these and they were great fun. We will have a look at the cattle, newly born calves, the river and wildlife. At the moment we have had 23 cattle calve, with 8 cattle left to calve, so the chances are we will have some pretty new additions to the herd present on the day. We may even have some young turkeys here on tour courtesy of my brother. They will be about 6 weeks old and just getting to the stage where they are keenest on flying....... We will also visit the historic 13th Century Leigh Chancel which sits next to the farm, where the graveyard is alive with wildlife including the impressive (and territorial) brown hawker dragonflies and normally a good range of butterflies. We'll finish back at the farm for a drink and some scones and jam (homemade).

You will also be able to pick up your fresh beef orders. What could be better on a Sunday afternoon? Please let me know if you plan to come along, bring some decent footwear. Unless its absolutely really really awful weather it will be going ahead!

The Rumming family have been farming cattle on the banks of the Thames at Waterhay near Cirencester, and at Lydiard near Swindon for over 60 years.  We provide the highest possible animal welfare which together with the grass fed diet produce superior beef.

Our beef is hung on the bone for 3-4 weeks to give the best flavour and texture, and then expertly butchered and packed in our own on farm butchery.  You can collect the beef fresh or frozen directly from the farms.
